Do you ever sit and listen to music and tap and sing along to the brass section? Well so do we - because we love brass! We love it so much we want to bring it to as many people as possible.

 

Tanunda Band Academy is an exciting project aimed to bring the joy of brass into peoples' lives. Led by a team of highly qualified and experienced experts, Tanunda Band Academy will teach you all you need to know to have your fingers flying in no time.

 

Our "Rookie" Program will teach the basics to absolute beginners and before long they will be promoted to the Academy Band to further develop their skills.....and that is where you will have even more fun, because you will be making even more friends and playing out in public!

 

Recent research has shown that playing music leads to multiple health benefits; it  increases brain function, improves memory, reduces stress and brings people together.....the benefits and the possibilities that playing an instrument brings are endless. Tanunda Town Academy is proudly inclusive and intergenerational.

Academy runs every Monday (except public holidays) during school term times. Tuition and participation is free, and you can hire an instrument from the band at the low cost of $50 per term. The educators, led by Carly Tilley, are all fully qualified music teachers. We hold 'come and try' days throughout the year. For more information click on the image below or email the academy.

Academy times, Mondays at the Tanunda Town Band Hall are:

Rookies (beginners) - 6:00-6:30pm

Academy Band - 6:30-7:30pm

 

So, whether you are a complete beginner or somebody who has previously played and would like to rediscover the joy of playing a brass instrument, Tanunda Band Academy has plenty to offer you.
